When you Join the TruBond Community
Your day asks a lot of you. The early start, the back-to-back calls, the afternoon that somehow gets busier instead of lighter, the evening where you still want to be present for the people you care about. Through all of it, your body is quietly doing its best to keep up.
That's the exact job adaptogens are known for. You've probably seen the word on labels and menus everywhere lately, including ours. So what are adaptogens, and why is your TruBond drink full of them? Here's the plain-language version.
What are adaptogens, really
Adaptogens are a group of plants and mushrooms traditionally used to help the body respond to stress and stay in balance. The name comes from the idea that they help you adapt, meeting the demands of a busy day without tipping you too far in either direction.
They aren't new. Many of them have been used for centuries in traditional wellness practices around the world, from Rhodiola in the mountains of Northern Europe and Asia to Ashwagandha in Ayurvedic tradition. What's new is how we drink them. Instead of a tincture or a capsule, they now show up in something bright and easy to enjoy.
How they're different from a jolt
Here's the part that matters. Adaptogens are not a spike. A strong coffee or an energy drink pushes you up fast and often drops you just as hard. Adaptogens work in the opposite spirit. They're traditionally associated with steadiness, helping you feel resourced and present rather than wired.
That's why they reward a routine. You build them into your day the way you build in water or a good night's sleep, as quiet support that adds up over time rather than a single big hit.
The adaptogens inside your TruBond drinks

We built both TruBond drinks around adaptogens chosen for the moment they serve.
Clear Rise, our morning Functional Drink for Clarity and Connection, carries 175 mg of Rhodiola Rosea (Rhodiolife®), the clinically studied adaptogen traditionally relied on for mental performance and clarity under stress. It's joined by Panax ginseng, another long-respected adaptogen, plus L-theanine and 500 mg of organic Lion's Mane, the nootropic mushroom traditionally associated with focus.
Lighten Up, our afternoon-into-evening blend, carries 200 mg of organic Ashwagandha (KSM-66®), the clinically studied adaptogen traditionally associated with stress resilience and balanced energy. Alongside it is 150 mg of organic Reishi, a mushroom long valued for a steady, present state, plus L-theanine and organic Lion's Mane.
You'll notice a small but real distinction here. Adaptogens like Rhodiola, Ashwagandha, Reishi, and ginseng are about helping the body respond to stress. Nootropics like Lion's Mane are more about mental clarity and focus. We use both, because showing up well asks for both.
How to make adaptogens part of your day
The amounts above are per stick, and adaptogens do their best work as a consistent routine. To make either drink, add one stick to 8 oz cold water and ice. Or add 2 sticks to the 16 oz TruBond x MiiR Flip Traveler with cold water and ice. Mix or shake well until it dissolves.
For Clear Rise, most people enjoy 2 to 3 sticks across the morning into early afternoon. For Lighten Up, 1 to 3 sticks from midday into the evening. Drinking the full daily range is how you reach the recommended amount of adaptogens and nootropics in each blend, so think of it as a daily ritual rather than a one-off.
Clear Rise is a bright, full-body citrus mint. Lighten Up is a crisp, fruit-forward raspberry yuzu. Both have no sugar added, and the gentle sweetness in each comes from allulose and organic monk fruit. Allulose is a rare sugar that occurs naturally in small amounts in some fruits, and your body doesn't absorb it as fuel, so it adds sweetness without the calories or the energy spike of regular sugar. Both are gluten-free, vegan, and non-GMO.
The bigger idea
We started TruBond around the gut-brain connection, the simple truth that how you feel shapes how you show up. Adaptogens are central to that. Not a miracle, not a fix, just time-honored ingredients doing steady work while you live your day. We also give 1% to advance mind-gut science, because we want this whole category to be understood better, not just sold harder.
So the next time you see adaptogens on a label, you'll know what you're looking at. And you'll know exactly why they're in your glass.

Frequently asked questions
What's the difference between an adaptogen and a nootropic? Adaptogens, like Rhodiola, Ashwagandha, Reishi, and ginseng, are traditionally used to help the body respond to stress and stay balanced. Nootropics, like Lion's Mane, are more associated with mental clarity and focus. TruBond drinks use both.
Do adaptogens have caffeine? No, adaptogens are not caffeine. Clear Rise includes about 11 mg of natural caffeine per stick from organic guayusa leaf for a gentle morning lift. Lighten Up is caffeine-free.
How often should I have them? Adaptogens do their best work as a consistent daily routine. Clear Rise is made for 2 to 3 sticks across the morning, and Lighten Up for 1 to 3 sticks from midday into the evening.
Which TruBond drink should I start with? Clear Rise if you want clarity and clean focus for the first half of your day. Lighten Up if you want stress resilience and an easy, present mood into the afternoon and evening. Many people keep both and reach for each at its moment.
Is allulose a sugar? Allulose is a rare sugar that occurs naturally in small amounts in some fruits. Your body doesn't absorb it as fuel, so it adds sweetness without the calories or the energy spike of regular sugar. Paired with organic monk fruit, it's how both TruBond drinks taste lightly sweet with no sugar added.
